"Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde"- Shape and Tonal Script
The Particular scene that I worked on is the chapter on the murder of Sir Danvers Carew. The death of Sir Danvers , brutally killed by Hyde is symbolic of the death of Dr. Jekyll himself. As after this chapter in the book, the character of Dr. Jekyll starts to deteriorate- giving way to Hyde.
The overall shape and tonal script starts and ends the same way. While in the beginning, order prevails over the life of Dr. Jekyll, in the end- order is disturbed by disorder (Sir Danver's blood) . After killing Sir Danvers, Hyde steps over his blood, leaving foot trails on the floor. This greatly symbolizes the death of Sir Danver's which represents the death of Jekyll, as the birth- point for Hyde.

"Strange Case of Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde" is a visual development project I worked on in the late winter of 08.
Based largely on the classic novel, the concept behind the look is that of duality (twos) Everything is designed in twos. The element of twos is subtly stitched into everything from props to characters to even the editing of the scene.
